Finally, IT giant Infosys signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) for setting up a unit in the Mihan-SEZ at Nagpur. However, the final deal is pending.

Nagpur Calling, a one day IT/ITES conference saw a galaxy of speakers, business leaders and industry bodies expressing their views while discussing roadmap to make Nagpur an IT / ITES destination. Spanco announced its plans to open up a 500 seater BPO at Nagpur, while Wipro assured that it will open up a BPO as soon as it gets enough numbers in terms of talent.
Reportedly, Nagpur will have another IT Park on 2 acres NIT land behind the existing Infotech tower in Parsodi. NIT finally found city-based Vidarbha Infotech to take the land on a 90-year lease for Rs 15 crore and come up with a hi-tech data centre in a major part of the area and let out the rest. It will also pay an annual rent of Rs 30 lakh to NIT.
